Storytelling with mood

A flouncy, candy-floss-pink tent. A desert sunset. A warm sense of whimsy. But something’s off. Why?

Tension as a result of the unexpected is what lights me up in art. Incongruence. I want people to stop and think that shouldn’t be there. There’s something suspicious about a magical tent in the middle of nowhere. Like the gingerbread house in Hansel and Gretel, we don’t trust it. Too good to be true.
